Our Story
Rooted in Real Life
Like many people, I have funeral stories — but unlike most, I have quite a few.
My father is a pastor, and I grew up attending multiple funerals each year. Many Sunday afternoons were spent visiting hospitals, care homes, and the homes of people in hospice. From an early age, I learned what families do — and what they need — when loved ones are seriously ill or pass away.
What I didn’t learn then was how planning ahead can ease the suffering of those left behind.

Reach out TodayLessons from Family
As a teenager, I watched my family spend three difficult days navigating two conflicting wills after a family member’s death. Perhaps they intended to make a change to the plan but never completed it — and that unfinished intention shaped the course of their children’s lives.
Years later, another family member passed away peacefully, believing they had created a trust using an online form. They hadn’t — and their family was left unprotected.
Through these experiences, I saw firsthand how the absence of clear planning leaves families vulnerable at the exact moment they most need peace.
A Calling to Plan with Purpose
After years as a teacher and then as an attorney, I became a parent myself. That experience deepened my understanding of what it means to plan — not out of fear, but out of love.
I know what it feels like to want to live forever for the people who rely on you. That feeling drives everything I do.
A Better Way to Plan
What if there were a better way to plan — not only for death, but for life?
At Swanson Law, we believe planning is an act of love and protection. The people who truly benefit from your plan aren’t you — they’re the ones you love most, who will one day be left to carry on. But, planning is also about you – your values, your lived experience, and your peace of mind.
That’s why we take a different approach:
No hourly billing or hidden costs — so you can ask every question without worrying about the clock.
Plans that actually work when families need them most — not just documents that sit in a drawer.
Life-focused planning — capturing your values, stories, and wishes, not only your assets.
